What's wrong with personal opinion?
It's not like I didn't buy a brand new receiver just a year ago...

I did lots of research, which included multiple store visits. Because of that experience, it is my
personal opinion that Sony receivers in that price range don't measure up in build quality to the other ones you mentioned.
My reasons?
The cases don't feel as sturdy. The controls aren't as solid. Displays on the front of the unit weren't as clear and didn't show as much information. Remotes were junk.
Like I said, I'm not a Sony hater, but I just don't think AVR's are their best product. Their TV's and media players are great.
