It is about 30-inches wide which holds five steelbooks on each ledge. I have steelies stacked three-deep for now and I rotate the steelbooks so I get to see different covers on a regular basis.

I currently have only one ledge to work with. There are 5 others lined up below the top ledge, but the distance between the rails is set at a height to accommodate my amusement park shot glass collection (I have lots f them).

I need to go back to IKEA to get more picture frame ledges. I don't remember the price, but I believe the wooden rails are between $5 and $10 each. When in stock, IKEA has white painted and natural wood picture rails. IKEA also has metal (aluminum) rails, but they cost more (over $10 each). The rails are pre-drilled and simply screw into the wall (I used anchors so the rails do not pull out of the drywall and fall to the floor).

Speaking of IKEA, I have four Billy bookcases side by side along the back wall of the living room. They are about 79-inches tall by about 33 inches wide and contain eight shelves each, 11 inches deep. I placed a light on the top of each bookcase which illuminates the shelf below (perfect for top shelf displays). These four Billy bookcases are home to my entire oldray DVD and Blu-ray movie collection. I have the two rear surround speakers on top of the bookcases on each end corner. Note: IKEA sells optional doors for the Billy bookcase system.

I will try to find time to take a photo and post it in the Home Theater Gallery to show the IKEA picture rails and the Billy bookcases.
Just tease us with your brilliant ideas-and then don't post photos! LOL
