Shudojo: Nure nawa zange
Ohara packs a ton of plot into this 70 minute nunsploitationer. I'll do my best to sum it up: After being revenge raped, because her new hubby has crossed the yakuza, a young woman attempts to commit suicide. A priest talks her out of it and she decides to become a nun. Once inside the convent, she discovers it's a den of iniquity with naughty nuns, bdsm rituals, and a corrupt mother superior who once a month, dresses one of the nuns up like a sheep and auctions off her booty to the highest bidder, who then takes her on an altar. Oh, I forgot there's also a injured yakuza who is hiding out in the convent looking for his sister. Whew! In this film you will also experience: giant aviator shades, nuns discoing, and Christmas music. My god, this is one for the ages.
The Impulse disc looks good, taken from an older print, but is not tape sourced like so many of their recent releases. I also have this on a dvd from the early 00's under the title,
Wet & Rope, released by Japan Shock, a Dutch dvd distributor. One other thing to note, the back of this Impluse dvd lists the release year as 1978, but pretty much everywhere else lists 1979.
The Weisser book lists this one under the title
Wet Rope Confession: Convent Story and has a hilariously inaccurate description of the film with hunchbacks and a siege on a cabin?! God I love that book!
