i have yet to experience the halo effect, but i did notice a little bit of white in the widescreen bars (in the corners) the other night, but that was the first time. I guess it would be personal preference if you wanted to move down, personally i wouldn't
because I just love my A950 and the way it freaks out my buddies when they watch it.
