I've never understood the whole arguments from people about streaming vs. physical media as if you cant do both, streaming is just the modern day alternative to the video stores (or even worse, watching on TV). Streaming has over taken physical media because a majority of society dont care enough about film to rewatch them very often or at all, I literally worked with a chick who said she never rewatches any movies.
I will always prefer to own because its mine and no one can take it away, I can just pull it out whenever I feel, but Im more than happy to discover new movies through streaming. Its better than when I used to watch them in butchered aspect ratios, censored with tons of commercials back in the day.
And if physical media were in such a threat, why are all the boutique labels now jumping into 4k? With Arrow, Synapse, Blue Underground, Scream and Vinegar Syndrome all jumping in I have no doubts Criterion will follow suit too, its just a matter of time now.
