I've been using the 32 GB versions for years (first the "HD", then the "4K") and never noticed an issue. I primarily use it for streaming, but have also installed a few games (AG Drive on the projector is fantastic
). tvOS can swap out unused apps to make room if necessary, so I don't think there is any situation where something doesn't work without 64GB.
