I own a 1080p 50" TV, and yes, the difference in clarity between the two resolutions is remarkable, to say the lea' st. Even a non-videophile like my sister can tell the difference.

I hate to hear this! I just paid off my 720p, 50" Panasonic last December with an interest free, two-year credit plan. Now I have to find someone to take this sucker off me for some cash. But you can buy the same TV, at 1080p, for nearly half the price, so it won't be easy to unload.
