I've seen almost all the documentaries about The Exorcist, and most of what is featured in Leap of Faith are new and refreshing.
I just watched this last night on a whim and was quickly drawn into it. Friedkin is a very intelligent person and articulates his influences, opinions and methodology very well. I may not agree with everything he says (his revisionism of The Exorcist), nor care for some of the methods he used to get what he wanted out of his actors performances (shooting a shotgun on set for jump scares, smacking an actor to get a emotional reaction, etc) but he is a compelling raconteur. Anyone interesting in the craft of directing and making films, this is a must-view program.
