As far as I know the main character, a man, was played by an actor like Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson.
The reason I name Neeson is because the plot of the recent film 'Taken',
which I have nót seen though, reminds me of the plot of the film I'm looking for.
Which was that this man's family was "taken" (lol) by some group of guerrillas and held prison in a jungle.
That caused for a setting much like the comedy 'Six Days Seven Nights',
where they were also on some tropic island and eventually also came across some guerrilla-group.
Which might be the reason I thought Harrison Ford is in the film I'm looking for.
The setting was also quite 'Platoon'- or 'Rambo'-like.

For the rest... I'm not sure how everything went...
But I know the man pretty much infiltrated into their camp or base there.
Pretty much on his own because he was like "I'll do it myself!" or something.
He was probably rejected for help from officials.

That's pretty much what I remember, but I remember enjoying it.
So, if anyone has a clue what I'm talking about now, I'd like to hear it.
You may be thinking of 'The Mosquito Coast' which stars Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren and River Phoenix. It's about a father who hates life in America and takes his family to the jungle to live. They build it up from scratch and at some point in the film, they are taken hostage by guerrillas.

Great movie and not yet available on blu and I'm pretty sure this is what you're talking about.
