Victor Salva, who's admittedly done some really bad things, is a good filmmaker whose done his time and paid his "debt to society". I'll always love his first two Jeepers Creepers movies. I had no idea of his background until just a few years ago. His feature length directorial debut, Clownhouse is also really well done despite the horrible acts surrounding the film. It's also the film debut of Sam Rockwell. I have a fan made Blu-ray of it and have watched it a couple of times. I also remember Powder as a kid from the 90s; I haven't seen it since. It was partially filmed in my hometown and the reclusive star of the film still lives in the area. It has a really good mainstream cast as well:
Mary Steenburgen
Sean Patrick Flanery
Lance Henriksen
Jeff Goldblum
I just focus on the art and try to ignore the personal lives of the artists. "Separate the art from the artist". It's a slippery slope. I'm still going to watch Roman Polanski and Woody Allen films as well.
