I was in an
"open-by-appointment only" HT dealer here in my home town last week. The door was open, so I just walked in. Anyway, the guy was really pleasant and let me linger for a bit. I immediately noticed the Marantz Reference Line of equipment, along with several Martin Logan's. One of the rooms had a Marantz SC-11S1 Power amp, Marantz SM-11S1 Preamp, Marantz SA-11S2 SACD/CD player connected to some ML Spires (yes, Rich's new babies). I gotta tell you Rich, this system blew me away. I listened briefly to DSOTM and Jazz At The Pawnshop, after which I offered him my first-born.
. My only regret was that no Turntable was available. When I asked him he matter of factly told me that his customer base wasn't the type of clientele to mess with vinyl. They want upper-end gear and convenience. How sad really as they don't know what they are missing.
