Ok, so I tried using the monitor only, instead of the TV and the same thing happens. It too is listed as generic PnP monitor. The problem is that I don't think Asus makes stand alone drivers for this (I didn't get a disc with the monitor, and can't find anything online), so I cannot try updating drivers.
Don't suppose Windows has a "Just trust me on this" option?
