If I am not mistaken, many players should output to both tv's with no problem, right?
What is the purpose? Show your friends who do not have blu-ray. The HDMI picture will look , and the downgraded composite picture will look "See, THAT is what you get when you buy DVD."

IF you have cable, what i do is flick back and forth between the HD channel and the SD channel.
SO if a program is in HD on channel 1010 and is als on SD on channel 10 you will see the difference.
I also have been able to hook up the cable box to the HD tv via HDMI and then run the composite out on the cable box to a regular Tv to get the same result.
