Count duplication for standalone vs. set titles
After purchasing the standalone UHDBDs of Psycho & The Birds (expecting I would eventually get the standalones of Vertigo & Rear Window to go with them), I ended up buying The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection 4K because it was cheaper than the remaining standalones. This left me with duplicate UHDBDs of Psycho & The Birds; yet this site's 4K movie count includes both of them.
Though I just posted them in the duplicate entries thread, the boxset version of Psycho has a different entry from the standalone version; but both are linked as the same movie. The boxset version of The Birds, however, is the same entry as the standalone version. Thus, that makes no difference; either way this site counts Psycho & The Birds twice in my 4K movie count. Is there any way to remove this kind of duplication from the 4K movie count, or am I just stuck with it?
I haven't tried to verify this site's regular Blu-ray count yet, but I suspect it counts certain duplicates in much the same way. That may be why my "Complete Collection" count (1228 movies, apparently de-duping all releases I have entered in the Blu-ray.com database) is significantly less than my Blu-ray count (1283 movies + 89 TV seasons = 1372 total) even though I have some DVDs and possibly even some unique digital movies entered here as well. In particular, I also have Psycho & The Birds on regular BD in the UK version of Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection in addition to both 4K releases. (I also have Vertigo & Rear Window in both the UHDBD & UK BD sets, but not standalone.)
