It appears as though you have narrowed it down to a problem in the sub, itself, but just in case, did you make sure the volume knob wasn't turned all the way down on it?
Could be a severed connection inside the sub wiring/circuits, damaged components, a broken connection jack, or even a burned out driver (doubt that one, though). If it is still under warranty, that's a good thing.
