Yes they did, the 5300ES still has advanced exchange for a new unit option listed on the support website. I said I wanted the the advanced exchange, the next day I got a call saying they no longer had new 5300es units to send me, so they asked if a 5400es would be ok. I gave them a hard time about loosing the S-Video inputs. maybe I should have pushed for a 6400es because of the loss of the S-Video

- The on-screen menu is not visible, or may be slow to appear, when the STR-DA5300ES A/V receiver is connected via HDMI to a video source and television that are capable of Deep Color.
NOTE: Deep Color was added with HDMI version 1.3 and supports 10-bit, 12-bit, and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths which allows rendering of over one billion colors in greater detail than previous versions.
- You may experience a darker than expected picture on your television when using your Sony® STR-DA5300ES A/V Receiver to upconvert a component video signal to an HDMI signal.
- The following symptoms may occur when the STR-DA5300ES A/V receiver is connected to some 1080p televisions that are not capable of displaying 1080/24p resolution:
- The on-screen menu is not visible, or may be slow to appear, when the television is connected with an HDMI cable.
- The picture is not visible when the television is connected with an HDMI cable and the A/V receiver is in GUI MODE.
- The on-screen menu and picture are not visible, or may be slow to appear, when up-converting an analog signal to HDMI and up-scaling the resolution to 1080p.
- There may be no video and/or no Audio when using DIRECTV® Satellite Receiver box HR20.
- There may be no GUI (Graphical User Interface) when connected to various 1080P capable televisions
- When connected to select STR-DA5300ES A/V receivers via HDMI input, a limited number of devices may show no video and/or play no audio.
- Audio may cut out when playing "Dolby® Digital Plus" format
- Audio may stop after 1 hour when playing "DTS-HD" or "DTS-Master" format
- Audio may stop after 5 seconds when switched to "Dolby TrueHD" from "AAC" or "Dolby Digital Plus"
