As long as studios don't confine the creativity to a specific format. It should be based on story/content and how it unfolds organically. Whether you do a Sherlock or Jack Irish T.V. movie length series of 3 episodes a season or a Big Bang Theory 20 plus episodes at 25 min. Each vs StarGate 20 plus episodes at 50 min. Each. What they do with there time is very important. Some shows are far to short on episodes or minutes and seasons farther apart than a year that kill the appetite.
If a studio acquires a body of work like Lord Of The Rings and wants to create one 2 hour movie out of it then no. Treat the material right and give it room to breathe
