The DirecTV receiver and whatever I am streaming on works perfectly soundwise, but when I watch a blu-ray, the sound cuts out during quiet moments of a movie, especially between dialogue, somerimes even cutting out low background music as well. I have tried every setting I can think of, but nothing helps. It doesn't cut out as bad if I turn off the soundbar and use the TV speakers. I tried switching the blu-ray player to HDMI 3, but it did no good. I already bought a new high speed HDMI cable to see if that would fix it, but it did not. The soundbar is old, but it works perfectly if I am streaming or watching DirectTV. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You've bought a high speed HDMI cable that you probably didn't need. You should return it, and get a refund, if it didn't resolve the problem, and use the same cable that you had before. Do you have another Blu-ray or DVD player that you can connect to your TV, as a test to see if has audio dropouts? Another question, were you having this issue with the audio before you got your new TV?
