It's very bizarre & extremely cheap, but the tone of it feels very '80s. I kinda liked it.
Shankar's well known for doing unofficial comic-book stuff (his Punisher short, Dirty Laundry with Thomas Jane was very good), but given the amount of DC & Marvel references & 'homages' in this I'm surprised it's an official Netflix series that doesn't seem to have any connection with either publisher. You'd think the lawyers would be on the phone as soon as it dropped.
