WDAS and Pixar are two very different studios. Each have considerable merits, with WDAS leaning more heavily on mass-appeal crowd-pleasers and Pixar more thoughtful and sometimes more poetic. I never confuse the two, even if they're both under the same corporate banner. The "last five years" demarcation is fair for WDAS, since that's the cut-off date for Zootopia and Moana. But Pixar in that same five years gave us Coco and (personal favorite) Soul. I'll forgive Pixar an occasional misfire like Onward, I'll grind my teeth through something as shallow as WDAS' Frozen. Harmless, really. It's not like other studios aren't there to fill the void (Sony's Into the Spider-Verse is the most electric animated feature I've seen in years).
