1. I'm not interested in the open shelf style TV stand and perfer the cabinet style like this one.

With a toddler and plans to have another baby soon, keeping the equipment away from little, sticky hands is a good idea. So, my question is how would I cool the equipment inside a cabinet? I’m not handy so cutting holes in the back of furniture to install fans isn’t realistic for me.

2. If I get a wood TV cabinet/TV stand, where should the center speaker go?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
1) You are limiting yourself by not wanting the open shelf style nor your desire to attach fans. I say give this site a look, it is recommended often on this site:

2) Center speaker should ideally be placed at ear level in comparison to your primary seating position, but this is not always possible. Really, this too will depend on what type of stand and TV you get. But it is best to place it directly under the TV and centered to where you sit across from it, at ear level.

Hope this helps....
