you are correct, the old DVD from 2001 is only the SD director's edition

however whenever the theatrical cut got a blu-ray in 2009, it too got a DVD counterpart around the same time that had the theatrical cut on it but content wise is 100% identical to the 2009 blu ray, right down to being the same terrible DNR'd to death master
