On the surface of it at least, I daresay: None of us can justify that price tag at all thus far, based on all of this.



I can't say I'm too surprised simply because the great DVD players from them that everyone talks about, like the RP82 are from how many years ago?

This is a question we have to ask Panasonic now: "What you done for me lately?"

That being said, I'm starting to feel disappointed when I read stuff like this. I also dread the inevitable FUD and "OMG TEH SKY IS FALLING!!!" stuff from HD-DVD trolls at certain forums over this sort of thing.

I want to see how the Sony and the Elite shape up, but I'm becoming more and more confident in my plan of simply buying the PS3 and riding out at least first gen altogether.
