Seeing the movie, it seemed like
[Show spoiler]the two co workers surviving were reshoots. The plot made more sense if they died there, and it was just a couple shots which showed them surviving (very easy to do in reshoots). Could also have seen M3gan killing some of the crowd gathered for the event rather than sneaking away

Hope the Blu has both cuts for sure.
