BRANDED TO KILL 4K - D A Y O N E
My favorite Criterion film of all time and my 2nd-3rd favorite film of all time. Didn't think Criterion would actually release this since I heard of its 4K restoration winning the Best Restoration at Berlin Film Festival (I think it was either Berlin or Venice). I'm hoping we can get Youth of the Beast and Tokyo Drifter 4K while we're at it (I know both of them would be AMAZING if done right). Can't believe this was Criterion's first Japanese 4K UHD (Would've thought someone bigger like Kurosawa or Ozu would get one first). Kinda wish they added more special features and have the pinku eiga version that was made a few years afterwards (Featured on Arrow Video's edition). Nonetheless, this caught me by a surprise
Everything else is all of major interests for sure. I am in the minority for saying this but I didn't like Targets when I first saw it (Not a big Bogdanovich fan in general).
Nonetheless, a great month if you ask me (I am a huge fan of BtK so it makes sense).
