Not sure about that. At least in my case.
Had a 2015 Samsung SSD in my PS4. Memory issues after 4 years.
My Samsung External SSD for PS5 I bought a few years back is already showing signs of memory issues that require a full System restart to correct.
I put a 2TB WD M.2 this time for my PS5 instead of going Samsung. When people were testing both drives a common theme was popping up. When PS5 reads the drive it tests its speed. The 980 always came in around 5.5GB/s while the WD always came in around 6.5GB/s.
