When I am in human mode, I prefer watching things at one times speed. If one is in artificial intelligence computer application mode, then using a 16 times speed BD-ROM drive is ideal to watch things at 16 times speed by using direct digital binary with no conversion to analog.
All joking aside, offhand I do not know of any current in production standalone 4K Blu-ray player or 2K Blu-ray player that is capable of 1.5 speed or 2 times speed with audio. There are some older out of production Panasonic Blu-ray players and Philips Blu-ray players that had the 1.5 times feature with audio. It's good that the Playstation 3 to 5 offer this feature. Not even PowerDVD Ultra 22 for Windows BD-ROM drives offer that 1.5 times feature with audio. While it allows one to get through a movie faster by watching at 1.5 or 2 times speed, most people feel it takes away from the movie watching experience if a human being watches at anything faster than 1 times speed. It would be cool if the 1.5 speed with audio was offered on all players, but it's my understanding that because of lack of demand the feature disappeared when they went to newer chipsets.
