My POV on this is that I will always prefer physical, might even skip a release or two if I have a backlog or too many games coming out in a short span, the first victims will be anything releasing digital only. There is no reason for a AAA full-priced single-player game to be digital only, so those are usually automatic skips for me. I'm not supporting AW2 just on principle alone. Like a Dragon Gaiden also disappointed me, but I understand their decision in that case because it is basically a short side story.

Where I honestly don't care if there is a physical version or not are strictly multi-player games. Diablo 4, outside of resale value is a pointless physical title, can't play it offline anyway. Same with the upcoming Helldivers 2, probably online only... don't care if I buy that one digitally because it keeps a spot free on my shelf for something that isn't just a placeholder.

In summary, I'll always support/prefer physical, but I understand that there is a place for the digital market, whether it's games or movies. But that being said, the digital market for me is a place to skim through trash on Netflix or just play multi-player titles or small indie stuff with games.
