Many transfers deserve harsh criticism for strong and inaccurate teal color timing. That said, I don't think that a bit of teal looks too off in a movie as dominated by blue, and colors close to blue (such as teal), as The Abyss is. It really is a matter of taste.
By the way, I can't help but laugh at the description that canva.com gives to the color teal, which I quote below. In these forums, teal is anything but calming.
