That said, there are some very good lossy DVD mixes. The Kill Bill movies on DVD both have potent DTS 5.1 audio. The "sheen" of the Hanzo steel, and The Bride's battle with the Crazy 88 were remarkable. The DTS 5.1 audio on The Eagles, Hell Freezes Over DVD is also amazing, and I would welcome a BD (with lossless) release of that!
