Your grandkids must be mighty talented making films that can reach BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) nomination level. I wish I was that talented!

In all seriousness though we've poured a lot of time and effort into this conversion and will have to rethink how else we can approach conversions without taking such massive risks if we struggle to get the 3D community support.

It appears that spending 6 months doing a conversion, then trying to sell it may be the wrong approach. One alternative is running the Kickstarter to raise funds and check the market is sufficiently strong, then only delivering the film 9-12 months down the line. I'm not sure how everyone will feel about that. Very tough market.
