Whatever they bring to cinemas in animation that's not a mainstream American studio product or (in more recent years) a Crunchyroll import, it's more often than not low-budget kiddie fodder. The first European animated production of significance I had the opportunity to watch on the big screen in several years was
Mavka, The Forest Song when it premiered here earlier this very month. Prior to that, I believe
Planet 51 from Spain is the last one I recall, way back in 2009.
