If you can test the motion with a benchmark disc and the issue is persistent, I'd think about trying another player. It's worth trying a new HDMI cable as well as making sure all your post processing is off.
If you go back and watch the same scene does is the motion still the same?

I'll have to pop in a movie tonight and test that out. I just know it happened with several movies. This player is still my first one and it was something affordable with DV. And I bought it refurbished. I can't afford to spend $300 on just a media player like everyone else here. I checked out the UBPX800 and a refurbished one is in my range, but not at the current time. That's why I'm hoping this issue can just be fixed. And I'm not even sure what you mean by post-processing.
