I want to hook up my external hard drive to my DVR. I have Dish Network. On their website it says I have to pay them a one time charge of $40 to be able to use the external hard drive. Is there a way around that? Also once I get to using it how do I copy files from the Hard Drive to to my laptop? Are the files encrypted or will it be an easy transfer?
