#1 reason is to make more profit. The rest of the reasons don't matter as much but i'll give it a whirl. Usually they don't want to step too much on the toes of disc based sellers complaining that they aren't able to sell as much because the digital pricing undercuts disc.
The other primary reason digital stays the same RRP as disc is they artificially can keep it much higher for longer than the typical price drops disc releases had over time. A 3 months or so post release window would see a reduction on say a £70 game to maybe £40-45 new. Sometimes even less in Ubisoft game cases.
