This was... OK. Not great, not terrible. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it, but it passed the time (mostly) painlessly. I was surprised to see Paul Feig's name when the credits rolled.
It's a fun premise which they could have done much more with, but it has a few solid laughs & a couple of nice fight scenes. Cena is good value as ever & Awkwafina didn't bug me as much as she has elsewhere. Loved the TMNT references, especially the use of that song.
On the downside, it's a bit overlong & most of the supporting characters are intensely irritating (& not in a funny way). Also, it must be noted, the scene where they get chased by a motorcycle gang (whose bikes only seem to go 5 miles an hour) is laughably poor, especially when they all crash lamely into piles of empty cardboard boxes. I honestly couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a spoof or just incredibly ineptly filmed.
Oh, & for those averse to such things, Machine Gun Kelly makes an appearance.
