I probably would not have paid $300 just for a quieter PS3, but since I sold my other one for $250 (the original 20GB model) the difference was well worth it to me. It is so much quieter. And I really do think the Slim looks good in person. I also like having the lossless codecs light up on my receiver.
So, if you can sell your 80GB and buy it I would say it's worth it. Or, if you have the money, buy another!
