Never thought about it before, but you're right. Usually I jot something down on a scrap of paper and put it in front of the booklet so it catches my eye as soon as I open the case. I go to great lengths to keep my discs and cases in mint condition, so the idea of marking up the booklet is something of a foreign concept (for me at least).

Could be the manufacturers are giving us a dedicated location to store information for later reference (for those that want to use it), but with as much information as we have available at our fingertips via the internet, it does seem the notes section in the booklets is unnecessary.

As they say, to each his own. Maybe it's one of those things that the manufacturers continue to do simply because it's always been done that way?
