I am not sure if the OP is talking about films the MPAA would feel I was too young to see...or movies that, looking back, I could have held off for a couple years before seeing.

I was born in '74. I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark when it was in theatres, and despite loving it as a kid, there were a few scenes that were rather shocking and probably gave me nightmares for a while afterward.

I also saw Romancing the Stone in the theater.

really freaked me out, and I remember that the movie just had an overall sense of dread that was really unsettling to me at that age--moreso than anything Darth Vader could conjure anyway.

No regrets, of course. And looking back, I think I probably enjoyed those films more because I was young enough to find them so exhilarating and surprising.
