USA Old School Sesame Street

I watched Sesame Street with my nephew today and the show is not like it used to be, a good chunk taken up with Elmo, and other not so great bits. I used to watch SS in the 70's when I was a youngster and was really entertained and learned a lot too. The show is way to commercial these days. All the good bits are gone, the number shorts were my favorite. My favorites were "The Mad Painter" who painted numbers on different objects(slices of bread, umbrella, stool, etc.), he was played by future Jefferson's star, the late Paul Benedict, the woman who was in some of the skits was a young Stockerd Channing. "Jazzy Spies" was trippy animation with Grace Slick on vocals! Then there was the accident prone "Baker"(voiced by the late Jim Henson put was played by a stuntman) who always fell down the stairs with cakes, pies, root beer floats(ouch, broken glass!). Then there was the pinball animations. THOSE WERE THE DAYS!
