Days was financed by a UK company, and only distributed by 20th Century Fox. Once the rights reverted to the Brits, they did a new distro deal for Days with Sony, along with the deal for the sequel trilogy, which was financed by Sony.
Weeks was financed by 20th Century Fox, they own it in perpetuity.
