It's the same as season 1 for me. The show looks amazing but I am clearly not the target audience with the way it's written. I find everything cringy and although I enjoy Wednesday the character, her monotone and distant personality is better fit as a supporting character, not the main, it gets seriously exhausting to watch her. I do think Jenna Ortega plays her very well though. The camping episode was pretty good though, I paid attention to that one.

Also, to say Lady Gaga 'can't act' and 'hasn't had a solo hit in 15 years' is factually incorrect. Now, you may not like how she acts or her characters, but she can act. And you can not like her music, but can't deny she has had solo hits in the last 15 years.
This is sort of how I felt watching what little of S1 that I did. Ortega is good as is her character. It's just everything else around her doesn't mesh well too much.

I feel like maybe the writers are trying to speak to an audience w/ their world rather than inviting their audience into their world.

The best way to put it is something akin akin to older folks trying to be hip and cool but not understand what is now hip and cool to present it naturally. I like the visuals but just feel like it's trying to hard to fit in than just being it's own thing in it's own way to make it unique.
