What are you talking about? That is not said at all. However you have to be careful with independent distributors! I agree.
DFW is unreliable in terms of quality. Especially in the beginning with wrong aspect ratio's, 1080i/p / 50. In later batches they showed they listened to the consumer with only 1080p/24. And they did distribute some very nice editions. Did you forget Aviator? Only version until then with DTS HD MA? Technically there is nothing wrong with 1408 or The Mist. Michael Clayton is said to be good, not great (DVD.nl review). Be carefull, but they have some very nice editions. Faulty editions are for example The Grudge, Shawshank Redemption.
A-film is doing just fine. No extra features on back catalog titles, but technically they gave us some very nice editions. DVD.nl said it also in its reviews. As well as DVD-home.nl. All titles thus far have 1080p/24 and DTS HD MA. Well if you want the extra features, you will have a problem. But the price in comparison with the quality of the discs is very good.
RCV seems the most unreliable factor at this time with various great, but also various suboptimal releases (1080i/50). As well as Paradiso with the original track in Dolby Digital 5.1 and the French dub in True HD on their newest release.
So stating avoid all, is just ridiculous. You mix your opinion with not existing facts (DVD.nl statement).
