The local-dimming backlit LED-LCD sets are nice.
The thing that annoys me is that Samsung is calling them LED displays...as if it's some new display technology...so people think there are plasmas, LCDs, and now, the latest & greatest, LEDs!!!!!!!
In HT, nothing bothers me more than this.
Displays have always been marketed with a title that described, usually in one word or acronym, the technology on which the display is based. NEVER before has a company run with an idea that they can get away with marketing a display based on a lighting technique...and yet, here we have the same old LCD panels with different lights behind them...and all of a sudden people are freaking out about the latest thing in HT.
That's what really grinds my gears.
