That is why I said the term best is subjective; Panasonic focused on upgrading certain other aspects one of which was not HQV processing. That being said it still upconverts SD-DVD very well.

great, thanks for the info. i really think i will buy the panny, but was also wondering how the sony 300 stacks up to the panny. does the panny blow it away or does it really matter which one you buy? i mean sony, panny, elite, sammy, etc.
