Default Talstarone's Home Theater Hang-Out

Some Of You May Already Know me.
But There Are Many Who Do Not.So Allow Me To Introduce Myself.

My Name Is Todd(Screen Name Talstarone).I Have Been a member of Blu-Ray.Com Since April 10th,2009.

I First Got A True Start In Audio/Home Theater in 1992.By 1995 I Had a Full Blown Home Theater/2-Channel Audio System.I Stayed in the Hobby Until Early 2000.Then I Took an Extended Break from the Hobby.

But In January 2009 I Became Interested In Home Theater/Audio Again. So Since Then I Have Slowly Accumulated the Rather Modest Gear I Have Now.

But I Do Try to Spend All My Spare Money(Which Is Limited)On My HT/Audio System.

So Today(Nov.3,2009)I get to order the New Screen and Brackets for my Projector.
I have been using a $4.00 White Wal Mart Sheet(Which Actually Did a Respectable Job)But I have a Feeling a True Projection Screen will Allow the Image to Look Even Better.

I finally feel that I have enough accomplished in my Home Theater System to Start My Own Thread.

I Have A Lot of Work To Continue On.My Home Theater Room Also Doubles As My Bedroom. And is Small In Size(Only A 10ft X 10ft).

So my Next Steps Are Hanging The New Screen.Attaching RaceWays Wire Channels to Hide the Speaker Wires From The BaseBoard Up the Wall to My Four Klipsch S-2 Hybrid Bipolar Surround Speakers.

Then The Last Stage of Phase 1 Will Be Painting the Room(A Color I Saw in BetaMan's Thread and Really Liked)Its called Breviety Brown from Sherwin Williams.

After That Is Completed I will Re-attach the Curtain Rod on the Wall My Screen is Attached To.I Have Black Curtains to Cover that Entire Wall. This Will allow Me to Be Looking at a Projection Screen Surrounded with Nothing But Dark Black Curtains. This Should Help With both the Contrast and Black Levels My Projector will Throw Upon My Screen.

And to eliminate ANY Reflections from the White,Textured Ceiling,I Am Borrowing an Idea from brokenthumb.I Will place a black Sheet over a good portion of the Ceiling All the Way to Where the Screen Is Located. An Inexpensive but very Effective Solution to a Possible Reflection Problem.

Then Phase 1 of My System Will Be Completed.

Then it Will Be Time To Move to Phase 2 Starting In December.
Adding a 2-Channel Music System To My Current System.

But More On That When The SACD Player Is Purchased Next Month.

But My Current Home Theater System Consists of the Following Components.

I Have Some Pics Of My Gallery Showing Most Of What Is In Place Now.

But Remember This Is Just A Start To Build The Best System I Can Afford and Fit In Such A Small Area.
So There Are A Tremendous Number Of Changes To Occur Over The Next 3 Months.

So What You See Now Will In NO WAY Resemble What You Will See In January/February.
So If You Leave Rating Please Be Kind.

This Is Just The Begining Of Something Much,Much Better.
