Ok so you have a small to medium sized room. I would say that you could be good with either way.

One 10"

or Dual 8"

In your situation You could go to with a 12" sub, but the size of the area you are looking provide bass for is the same as mine and I find that one good 10" sub provides more then sufficient bass. I do however want to get a second 10" because I feel that I would get more even bass response in my listening area. Although I would have to turn the gain on the sub down even lower so that it wouldn't overpower the room. I think you may find that 2 8" subs would work very good for you, also.

I am not saying that you cannot or should not have a 12" sub, that is completely up to you. However a good 10" or dual 8"s would give you just as good of a result given the size of the area you are providing bass for, and with your speakers. I used to have the SS-F5000.
