My wife and I cleaned out our home office today and I found an old laptop that I thought I donated to Goodwill.

I decided to keep it and install a version of Linux. After a bit of research, it seemed like Ubuntu 9.10 was a popular version. I downloaded it, burned the image to a bootable CD, and have just started the installation process.

I guess I'll play around with it and see what cool things I can get into.

I haven't touched UNIX or Linux since the late 90's. I'm sure it has evolved some. Probably need to pull out some of my Linux books to refresh my brain.
