It will be interesting to see though, now that TDK have made 6 layer Blu-ray discs, if the specs will be upped to either 4 or 6 25GB layers. I wouldn't think there would be any ramifications in the hardware specs if they kept the per layer specs the same.

Aren't you confusing recordables (BD-R/RE) with replication (BD-Video)? 288 Mbps is 8x. Which is definitely on the road map for recordables.
