Thanks for the post. From what I've read so far on the internet, it seems like handshake issues can crop up no matter what type of components are hooked up.
So far I've never heard of a problem similar to mine. Most handshake issues don't cause the TV to stop communicating with everything, so perhaps the TV just has a defective board. At least that's what I hope it is, because I'd hate to think that the player did something to the TV, like the Sony rep was alluding too. I'm hoping that once the TV gets fixed, I can get back to watching my BDs and DVDs in 1080p!
